Dental 266 is proud to offer our patients the technological advantage of Nobel Biocare implants, which makes for a smoother and more efficient implant procedure. Internationally renowned and the pioneer of the all-on-4® dental implant system, Nobel Biocare’s commitment to quality restorations ensures our patients’ permanent tooth replacements. Let’s take a look at how the Nobel Biocare dental implant can help patients with tooth loss.

What Are Dental Implants?

Dental implants are artificial tooth roots that are used to replace lost or missing teeth. Your dental practitioner will make an incision into your gums and then make a hole in your jaw bone, after which the dental implant will be screwed into place.

Dental implants are made from titanium alloys but they need to be integrated into your body to be effective. Over a period of three to five months new bone will grow around the implant, a process that is known as osseointegration.

It is this process of osseointegration that gives the implant its permanence and differentiates it from other tooth replacements like bridgework and dentures. Ultimately, when it is fully integrated your dental implant will look, feel and function like your natural teeth.

Some of the major advantages of using dental implants over other kinds of tooth replacements include:

A natural look and feel

The majority of people around you won’t know that you have an implant.

Unlike dentures or bridges, you can just brush and floss your implant as you would for your other teeth.  You don’t need any special cleaning solution, and you don’t need to remove them before bed.

Greater confidence

Because implants don’t move around or affect your ability to speak most patients find they feel more confident than using other tooth replacements.

What Are Nobel Biocare Implants?

Founded in 1981 Nobel Biocare manufactures dental implants, restorations and biomaterials. The Nobel Biocare implant became a household name in the late-1990’s after the success of the all-on-4 treatment, which makes use of four tilted implants to replace an entire arch of missing teeth.

The biggest benefits of the all-on-4® treatment include

  • Replacing a whole arch of teeth using only four implants
  • Being able to load the implants immediately after the procedure
  • Avoiding the need for bone grafting
  • Ultimately the all-on-4 treatment is a minimally invasive procedure, which can be completed faster than multiple single placements.
  • A more cost-effective procedure than placing multiple single implants

Since then the Nobel Biocare implant system has helped countless patients to replace missing teeth. Dental 266 is pleased to offer our patients a procedure that 98% of patients would recommend.

A 95% satisfaction rate among patients means that the Nobel Biocare implant system produces predictable results.

How Does The All-On-4 Treatment Work?

Four dental implants, tilted at 45 degrees are used to create an anchor for a fixed arch prosthesis. The tilting of the implants means that many patients who many not have thick enough jaw bone for a single dental implant, may be eligible for an all-on-4 procedure.

How Can Dental Implant Technology Benefit You?

Even though dental implant procedures typically have high success rates, the procedures become very complex, lengthy and costly when multiple teeth need to be replaced.

Often, patients with gum disease consider other tooth replacements because their jaw bone is insufficient to support single implants.

Dental implants can often only be loaded after osseointegration has taken place, meaning that patients have to wait for extended periods of time before their permanent crowns can be finalised.

If you are looking for a long term and permanent solution to lost teeth, dental implants outperform other tooth replacements. If you have been ineligible for single dental implants because you need a bone graft, or you cannot wait for single implants then the Nobel Biocare dental implant could benefit you.

At Dental 266 we work closely with our patients to ensure a finished result that is as natural and comfortable as possible. We make use of the latest in dental implant technology to ensure greater accuracy and patient satisfaction.
